New committee for Dhaka University's Masterda Surya Sen Hall alumni, Dablu president and Palash general secretary
A new committee has been formed for the Masterda Surya Sen Hall Alumni Association of Dhaka University. Munshi Mustafizur Rahman Dablu has been elected president of the new committee, and Asaduzzaman Palash has become its general secretary.
The organisation's general meeting was held on Saturday (October 17) at the DUAA floor of Dhaka University's Senate Building. It was at that meeting that the two were elected to the organisation's top two posts by the unanimous consent of the members.
The general meeting discussed the organisation's future activities in detail. Views were also exchanged on how member engagement can be increased further.
Another important subject of discussion was arranging a get-together in a festive atmosphere. Keeping such gatherings in mind — as a way to preserve contact and bonds among former students — plans were discussed at the meeting.
Based on the opinions and consent of the members present, the meeting decided to form the organisation's full committee. The names of the new leadership were announced as part of that decision.
As part of the future work plan, ATM Abdul Bari Danny, member secretary of the Dhaka University Alumni Association, announced a partial committee. The announced partial committee distributes responsibilities for the top posts as well as key secretarial positions.
In the new committee, Bashir Ahmed Khan has become senior vice-president. Md Abdul Karim Sarkar has been elected senior joint general secretary. Alongside the president and general secretary, the senior leadership structure was thus finalised at the meeting itself.
Kafi Abdullah Hakim Sumon has taken organisational responsibility as organising secretary. SM Ariful Islam has become assistant organising secretary.
Md Fakhrul Islam Khan has been given responsibility for the post of treasurer, meaning oversight of the organisation's financial affairs has also been settled within the new committee.
Rajib Mina has been elected international affairs secretary. Arif Thakur has become literature and publication secretary, and Md Nazrul Islam Rasel has become publicity secretary.
All in all, through this committee announced from the general meeting, the Masterda Surya Sen Hall Alumni Association has taken on the responsibility of implementing its work plan for the days ahead. Carrying out decisions such as increasing member engagement and arranging the get-together is now the main task before the new leadership.
