Akij Mediplex Signs Deal with KNS Canada on Liver Diagnosis, Focus on FibroScan
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Akij Mediplex Limited and KNS Canada (BD) aimed at modern diagnosis and assessment of chronic liver disease. Under the deal, the two organisations will work together to expand the use of FibroScan technology, with Akij Mediplex — a concern of Akij Resource — as the local partner.
The MoU was signed on October 13 at Akij Mediplex Limited’s diagnostic and consultation centre at Mirpur-10 in the capital.
Alongside the signing, a scientific workshop on FibroScan technology was held to enhance the knowledge and skills of physicians.
At the workshop, Dr. Tasrina Rahman, director of KNS Canada (BD), presented a paper titled “FibroScan — the platform for the diagnosis of the consequence of chronic liver disease.”
Her presentation highlighted the assessment of liver health, the diagnosis of complications of chronic liver disease, and the role and importance of FibroScan technology in disease management.
The workshop also discussed how this modern diagnostic technology can help in evaluating the condition of the liver.
Abu Zafar Iqbal Ahmed, chief business officer of Akij Mediplex Limited, along with the institution’s consultants and senior officials, attended the workshop.
Through this initiative, Akij Mediplex Limited and KNS Canada (BD) reaffirmed their commitment to knowledge exchange in the medical field, raising awareness of modern diagnostic technology, and ensuring better healthcare.
The two organisations also expressed interest in working jointly in the future on developing the skills of medical professionals and expanding the use of innovative diagnostic technology.
Delayed detection of chronic liver disease increases complications — against that backdrop, those involved believe expanding modern assessment technology such as FibroScan can play an important role in disease management.
