PSG Beat Barcelona 4-2 in Parc des Princes Thriller to End Their 11-Match Winning Run

Paris Saint-Germain beat Barcelona 4-2 in a thrilling contest between two European heavyweights at the Parc des Princes in Paris.

The story of the match was one of leads taken and leads surrendered. PSG went ahead first, and Barcelona drew level.

The hosts then went ahead again, but Barcelona equalised for a second time to keep the contest finely balanced.

After PSG went in front for a third time, however, there was no way back for them. This time Barcelona could not find another equaliser.

Instead, PSG extended their lead further late in the game, sealing the final 4-2 scoreline.

With this win, the reigning European champions brought a high-flying Barcelona side back down to earth.

Barcelona had been on a run of 11 straight wins across all competitions. This defeat brought that run to an end.

It was also the first defeat of the season for Hansi Flick's team — the first major setback for a side that had marched on unbeaten until now.

For PSG, beating such strong opponents at home was a statement of their own strength. Twice losing the lead yet not breaking mentally, and ultimately snatching the win, carries special significance for them.

This latest meeting between the two clubs proved once again that a PSG-Barcelona clash at the top level of European football means a festival of goals and uncertainty until the final whistle.
