SAFF Championship Returns to Dhaka for Its 15th Edition; Mojo Named Official Beverage Partner

Staff Reporter • Reading time: 2 min

The SAFF Championship, South Asia's biggest football tournament, is returning to Dhaka. The 15th edition of the tournament will be held from November 5 to 17, and Mojo, a brand of Akij Food and Beverage Limited, has joined as the official beverage partner of the event.

Six countries will take part in this year's edition — hosts Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, India, Pakistan and the Maldives. The teams will be divided into two groups, and a total of nine matches will be played across the tournament. Every goal, every attack and every victory will create new stories of excitement and celebration.

Hosting the SAFF Championship on Bangladeshi soil again after 2018 is a special occasion of joy for the country's football fans. After a long wait, spectators will get the chance to watch South Asia's best teams battle it out on home ground.

Football means emotion, love and the indomitable energy of youth for the people of Bangladesh. Mojo has joined the tournament to make that frenzy even more vibrant. In the brand's words, football is not just a game; it is a force that binds the whole country together in a single thread.

Through this partnership, the brand wants to be a companion to football fans in their moments of joy, excitement and pride. Believing in the energy of youth, emotion and the spirit of celebrating together, Mojo feels that being associated with a major sporting event means becoming part of the supporters' festival.

Speaking about the partnership, Syed Zahurul Alam, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Akij Food and Beverage Limited, said, 'It is a matter of pride for Mojo to become the official beverage partner of an international tournament like the SAFF Championship.'

He added, 'We believe the power of youth and the emotion of football give the whole of Bangladesh an opportunity to celebrate together. Mojo always wants to stand beside this youth, this joy and these moments of Bangladesh's pride.'

The SAFF Championship is the most prestigious competition among South Asia's football federations. As hosts, the Bangladesh team will draw the greatest attention from home spectators. Excitement has already begun to build around matches against neighbours such as India, Pakistan and the Maldives.

With the November tournament ahead, it is now time for preparations. News about the six teams' squads, the group-stage schedule and venue readiness will keep coming in the days ahead. The presence of spectators in Dhaka's galleries is also set to be a major attraction of this edition.

All in all, the SAFF Championship 2026, which kicks off on November 5, is not just a football tournament — it is a festival of collective celebration for the country's football lovers. Mojo's joining as the official beverage partner has added to the festive mood.
