Three Tourists Die While Bathing at Cox's Bazar Beach, Two More Missing

Staff Reporter • Reading time: 1 min

Three tourists have died after going into the sea to bathe at Cox's Bazar beach. Two more tourists remain missing in the incident, which occurred on Thursday (22 October).

The tourists reportedly drowned after entering the water to bathe. The deaths of three of them were later confirmed, while there was no trace of the other two.

Efforts are under way to rescue the two missing tourists. However, there was no news of their recovery as of the writing of this report.

The identities of the dead and missing tourists, and where they had travelled from to visit Cox's Bazar, were not immediately known in detail.

Thousands of tourists visit Cox's Bazar, the country's main tourist destination, every day, and a large share of them bathe in the sea. Because of the risks from currents and waves, bathers are repeatedly urged to exercise caution at the beach.

After this incident, the need for tourists to be more careful before entering the water at the beach has come to the fore once again.
