WHO online platform offers free courses open to learners from any country

Staff Reporter

The World Health Organization (WHO) is offering the chance to take courses on a range of subjects free of charge through its online learning platform. Interested people from any country in the world can take part in these courses.

The online learning programme covers public health, the spread of infectious diseases, preparedness for tackling epidemics and what to do in health emergencies. The courses are designed mainly to help learners gain up-to-date knowledge on important areas of the health sector.

The courses can be useful for health workers, medical students, researchers and anyone interested in public health. People may join them to build professional skills as well as out of a desire to learn new subjects.

In terms of entry conditions, the courses are quite open. No specific nationality or educational qualification has been mentioned as a requirement for taking part. As a result, interested people from different countries around the world can take the courses with ease.

Alongside those working in the health sector, general students interested in gaining knowledge in related subjects can also participate. This means both professionals and students get the chance to learn from the same platform.

However, the content and language of instruction may vary from course to course. Learners are therefore advised to look carefully at the detailed information of their chosen course before selecting it.

Those interested must first visit the WHO online learning platform. From there, they can select a course of their choice and follow the participation process according to that course’s instructions.

Deadlines and participation rules may also differ by course. Some courses may require the material to be completed within a set period, while others may be finished at the learner’s own pace.

For this reason, emphasis has been placed on checking the detailed information of the relevant course before applying or enrolling. Knowing the language, duration and conditions in advance will help avoid later confusion.

All in all, this opportunity to receive international-standard health education free of charge could benefit health workers and students from any country, including Bangladesh. Interested learners can visit the platform and choose a course according to their needs.
