Fire at Gazipur Warehouse, Nine Fire Service Units Working to Bring It Under Control
A fire has broken out at a warehouse in Gazipur. On receiving the news, nine units of the Fire Service rushed to the spot and began working to bring the blaze under control. Initial reports said the warehouse stored yarn and garment factory goods.
As an industrial district, Gazipur hosts countless garment factories and their warehouses. Such warehouses usually stock flammable materials such as yarn, fabric and finished garments, so once a fire spreads it becomes difficult to contain. Considering the intensity of this fire as well, unit after unit was dispatched.
Nine Fire Service units are reported to be working simultaneously. Firefighters are also watching to make sure the flames do not spread to neighbouring structures.
No confirmed information about the cause of the fire was available at the initial stage. There was also no immediate report of casualties or of the scale of damage.
Once the fire is fully under control, the Fire Service may release details about the cause and the damage. Investigators will examine whether an electrical fault or something else sparked the blaze.
Warehouse fires in Gazipur's industrial belts are not new. After each such incident, questions arise about fire safety arrangements in warehouses, emergency exits and the rules for storing goods.
According to the latest reports, Fire Service efforts to control the fire are continuing. New information about the situation will be shared as it becomes available.
