Vucic Concedes Defeat in Serbia as Student Movement Celebrates on Belgrade Streets

People have poured onto the streets of the Serbian capital Belgrade in jubilation after the country's long-standing leader Aleksandar Vucic conceded defeat in Sunday's parliamentary elections.
Vucic's Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) was defeated in the election by the Student List. The Student List is a movement with no obvious leaders, whose members are not career politicians.
BBC correspondent Nick Thorpe, reporting from Belgrade, said many people had taken to the streets to celebrate following an election that saw record-high turnout.
The BBC report said the celebrations on Belgrade's streets carried a sense of joy as well as disbelief.
