He made the remarks on Monday, 26 October, during a courtesy call by Winrock International Global President and CEO Maksuda Maksudi at his office at the Home Ministry in the Secretariat.

During the meeting, the Human Trafficking Prevention and Suppression Act, the digital NRM platform and sustainable rehabilitation activities for trafficking victims were discussed in detail.

At the meeting, the Home Minister said the government is effectively operating the National Referral Mechanism (NRM) and the Human Trafficking Prevention Fund to protect and rehabilitate victims and bring offenders quickly under the law.

He said the ministry is providing necessary cooperation to quickly complete approval processes for related NGO activities and new projects.

The Home Minister said immediate legal action has been taken against fraud and trafficking rings operating recently through cyberspace and fake online job offers in the name of foreign employment.

Winrock International President Maksuda Maksudi expressed satisfaction at working in partnership with the Home Ministry since 2008 to prevent human trafficking in Bangladesh.

She reiterated Winrock's full support for implementing the Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling Prevention and Suppression Act, 2026 and the upcoming National Plan of Action (NPA) for 2026-2030.
