Trump Announces $1 Million Reward for Voter Fraud Reports, Payable Only on Arrest and Conviction

US President Donald Trump has announced a $1 million reward for reports of voter fraud in past elections and the upcoming midterm elections, with payment contingent on the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
In a Truth Social post on Monday, the president wrote that anybody reporting voter fraud in past elections, or in the upcoming 2026 midterm election, will be paid $1,000,000 upon the arrest and conviction of those who created the fraud.
Trump later reiterated the offer to reporters before boarding Air Force One for a campaign rally in Mississippi, saying he would issue a $1 million bonus or reward — whatever people want to call it — for anybody who reports voter fraud leading to the arrest and conviction of somebody.
Trump did not disclose how he plans to pay for the rewards. The White House has been contacted for comment.
The announcement comes ahead of the November midterm elections and follows Trump's repeated and unfounded claims of widespread voter fraud.
Earlier this month, Democratic state attorneys general expanded coordination efforts to counter potential federal interference in the upcoming elections, amid growing concerns over the administration's voter fraud claims.
California's attorney general, Rob Bonta, criticised the Trump administration's efforts to restrict alleged noncitizen voting, accusing it of 'politicizing and weaponizing the law.'
In 2020, Texas's Republican lieutenant governor Dan Patrick offered $25,000 for election-fraud tips, saying at the time that he supported President Trump's efforts to identify voter fraud in the presidential election and his commitment to making sure every legal vote is counted and every illegal vote is disqualified.
Following Patrick's offer, the first payout went to Eric Frank, a Democratic poll worker in Pennsylvania whose tip led to the conviction of a 72-year-old Republican who voted twice — once in his own name and once in his son's — the Washington Post reported in 2021.
