A major player move has been completed in the US National Football League (NFL). The Indianapolis Colts have sent their All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks. On Tuesday, a person familiar with the deal told the Associated Press (AP) about the move.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because neither team had yet officially announced the deal. The person said that in return for Nelson, an eight-time Pro Bowl selection, the Colts would receive a third-round draft pick and a fifth-round draft pick.

Nelson is 30 years old. He can become a free agent in March. He had not said much about his future plans, however, because he was focused on finishing the current season strong.

This is the second major move in two weeks for Indianapolis. The team currently has a record of 2 wins and 5 losses. They have lost three straight games, and 12 of their past 14 overall.

Last week, after a home loss to the previously winless Tennessee Titans, the Colts fired general manager Chris Ballard. For now, assistant general manager Ed Dodds has replaced Ballard.

Nelson was the No. 6 overall pick in the 2018 draft. That year he made the All-Pro team alongside linebacker Darius Leonard. They were the first rookie teammates to earn All-Pro honors since the Chicago Bears’ Gale Sayers and Dick Butkus in 1965. Nelson was an All-Pro from 2018 to 2020.

Under the upcoming schedule, the Colts visit Jacksonville (4-2) on Sunday, while the Seahawks (4-3) host Chicago (5-2) on Monday night.
