Thakurgaon-1 by-election will be fair and smooth, no cause for concern: CCTV and body cameras for monitoring, says EC secretary
The Thakurgaon-1 by-election will be held in a very fair and smooth environment and there is no room for concern about it, Election Commission Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed has said. He made the remarks to journalists on Wednesday (October 28).
The Election Commission (EC) has taken extensive preparations to avoid any kind of unpleasant situation around the by-election and to keep law and order fully under control. He said the commission has ensured all kinds of arrangements so that voters can exercise their franchise completely without hindrance and in safety.
Akhtar Ahmed said strict security is being ensured at the field level to make the election free, fair and peaceful.
At the same time, CCTV cameras have been installed across the whole Thakurgaon constituency to supervise the election.
Members of the security forces serving at the field level have also been given body-worn cameras, so that the law-and-order situation and the overall voting process can be closely monitored.
Urging voters not to keep any doubt or fear in their minds about the election environment, the senior secretary clearly said voters will be able to come to the centres completely without hindrance and exercise their right to vote.
