The results of the HSC and equivalent examinations will be published simultaneously across the country at 11am on October 31, according to a notice from the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee.

The method of getting results by SMS on a mobile phone has changed this year. In previous years results were obtained by sending an SMS to 16222, but this year messages must be sent to 16140.

To send the SMS, students write HSC in English, give a space, then write the first three letters of their education board's name, their roll number and the examination year, and send it to 16140. The example given is: HSC DHA 123456 2026 sent to 16140.

Students will be able to get their results from their own institutions, online and by SMS. Results will also be available on the websites of the respective education boards and on educationboardresults.gov.bd.

According to the notice, no results will be available directly from education board offices, the education ministry or newspaper offices.

Applications for re-scrutiny of published results and re-evaluation of answer scripts can be made online from November 1 to November 7. The application process and instructions will be published on the education boards' websites.

This year's HSC and equivalent examinations began on July 2 and ended on August 8. However, written examinations in several subjects under the Chattogram board could not be held on schedule because of floods; after the postponed examinations were held, that board's written examinations finished on September 9.

A total of 1,270,583 students from 9,439 institutions under the country's 11 education boards took part in this year's HSC and equivalent examinations.
