Four police closed in Sirajganj after banned Jubo League march in front of patrol car on video
Four police personnel of Jamuna Bridge West police station have been closed after a video spread showing a protest march by the banned Jubo League in front of a police patrol car in Sirajganj and threats directed at police members.
Sirajganj Superintendent of Police Saiful Islam Santu and Jamuna Bridge West police station officer-in-charge Amirul Islam confirmed the matter at about 11 p.m. on Thursday, October 29.
According to information from a special source, the closed personnel are Jamuna Bridge West police station Assistant Sub-Inspector Arifur Rahman, Constable Nasimuzzaman, Constable Morshedul Islam and driver Abdul Gafur.
After the four names were sent to Superintendent of Police Saiful Islam Santu, he said four police personnel had been closed. He said he could not confirm the names because he had not memorised them and had been outside all day, but he confirmed that the driver had been closed.
Jamuna Bridge West officer-in-charge Amirul Islam did not answer repeated phone calls. When the four names were later sent to him by text message, he confirmed the closure.
The incident took place at about noon on Wednesday, October 28. A video of a protest march led by former Sirajganj district Jubo League general secretary Md. Ekramul Haque in an area of the Sirajganj highway spread on Facebook.
Ekramul Haque can be seen present in person in the march in the video. In front of the march was a police patrol car, with police personnel inside it.
In the video, people from the march can be heard saying they would kill in one go. At one point the car door was opened, but the patrol car then left with the door closed.
