Bangladesh name 15-member squad for U-19 Asia Cup, Farid Hasan Faisal to lead

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 15-member Bangladesh squad for the Under-19 Asia Cup. Farid Hasan Faisal will lead the team, with Ahsan Al Mumin as his deputy.
Faisal, under whose captaincy the Bangladesh youngsters recently played a four-match ODI series against Afghanistan in Oman, will also lead them in the youth Asia Cup. The tournament will be held in Oman next month.
Alongside Faisal and Mumin, the 15-member squad includes Abdullah Al Muhi, Farhan Sadik, Kawsar Ahmed, Tafiul Alam Tamim, Shakil Khan, Rakibul Hossain, Sheikh Zarif Siyam, Al Amin Hossain Roni, Al Rafi, Rabiul Hasan Anik, Sheikh Atiur Rahman Akash, Al Amin Hossen and Rubay Islam Rizon.
Before the Asia Cup, the Bangladesh Under-19 team played four ODIs against Afghanistan at the Al Amerat ground in Oman. Faisal's Bangladesh moved well ahead in the series by winning the first two ODIs, one of them in a Super Over. But defeats in the last two matches meant the series was drawn 2-2.
Bangladesh will begin their Asia Cup campaign against Afghanistan in Al Amerat on 5 November. Their next match is against Sri Lanka on 7 November, followed by Malaysia on 9 November. All three matches will be played at the Al Amerat ground.
India have won the Under-19 Asia Cup a record eight times. Bangladesh and Pakistan have each won the title twice. Pakistan are the most recent champions, beating India in 2025.
Bangladesh won the title in 2023 and 2024, in consecutive editions. Afghanistan won their only title in 2017.
