Bangladeshi Arman Hossain arrested in Kuwait over security guard's killing, confesses to police
Police in Kuwait have uncovered the mystery behind a killing within 24 hours of a security guard's body being recovered from the roof of an under-construction building in the Al-Mutlaa area. The country's Criminal Investigation Department has arrested a Bangladeshi national, Arman Hossain, on suspicion of involvement in the incident.
According to local media reports, on Friday morning (30 October) police were informed after a security guard's body was found lying on the roof of an under-construction building in the Al-Mutlaa area. Officers reached the scene, recovered the body, collected evidence of the killing and began an investigation.
At one stage of the investigation, police suspicion fell on a former security guard of the same building. He had reportedly been relieved of his job just one day before the incident.
Police said the Bangladeshi suspect, whose visa had expired, surrendered at Kuwait's Sharq police station to avoid arrest for violating residency law. The investigation, however, found information linking him to the killing, and under questioning he admitted his involvement.
The arrested man's name is Arman Hossain. Local media reported that his home is in Munshiganj district of Bangladesh.
During questioning, Arman said the killing stemmed from a dispute with the man who had replaced him in the job. According to his confession, the security guard was killed in an attack with a piece of wood and a knife.
Kuwait's law enforcement agencies are preparing to hand the accused over to the relevant authorities after completing the necessary legal procedures in the case.
