The air quality in the capital Dhaka is at an unhealthy level today. At 10:50am on Sunday (November 1), Dhaka stood fourth on the list of the world's most polluted cities with an AQI score of 168.

The top three on the list are Lahore in Pakistan, Tashkent in Uzbekistan and Karachi in Pakistan. The three cities' AQI scores are 474, 199 and 176 respectively.

Under the Air Quality Index (AQI), the scale used to measure air quality, a score of zero to 50 is considered good. A score of 51 to 100 is considered moderate.

An AQI score of 101 to 150 is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups. By that measure, Dhaka's score of 168 today is above even that band.

A score of 151 to 200 is considered unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and a score above 301 indicates hazardous air. Dhaka's score today falls within the unhealthy band.
