US could strike Iran on Monday night, reports say
US President Donald Trump has already discussed the possibility of launching another military operation in Iran with his national security advisers. However, he has not yet taken a final decision on a strike.
Speaking to journalists at the White House Oval Office on Thursday (November 5), Trump said he had not yet decided whether to strike Iran.
He said, "If possible, I don't want to destroy the rest of the country. But maybe I will have to. You will know very soon."
Meanwhile, Fox News reported that Monday (November 9) will be a new moon night in the Middle East, which could create favourable conditions for a military operation at that time.
Citing US officials, the report said a new moon would be visible in the Middle East on November 9. As a result, there will be little moonlight in the night sky. Such conditions can be favourable for a military operation.
In addition, citing a US official, various reports have said the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) is preparing to launch another military operation against Iran.
However, so far they have received no order to begin the operation.
