Tehran warns US bases in the Middle East will not be allowed to be rebuilt
Iran has delivered a stern message that the existing United States military installations in the Middle East will not be allowed to be rebuilt. Tehran also claimed that the US military bases in the region have suffered severe damage as a result of the ongoing conflict.
A report by Iran's semi-official news agency, Fars News Agency, said the claim was made by the spokesman of the country's armed forces, Brigadier General Mohammad Akramnia.
According to him, more than 228 infrastructures and related centres of US military bases spread across different states in the Middle East have suffered serious damage. He added that several of these installations have been completely destroyed.
Mohammad Akramnia further claimed that, in the present situation, no US base in the region retains the capability to carry out military operations.
As a result, Washington is now forced to bring in everything from the fuel needed for its warships to supplies for its troops from outside the Middle East, he claimed.
The spokesman of the Iranian armed forces said in a firm voice, 'We will never allow the enemy's military bases in this region to be rebuilt.'
The report, however, carried no official response from the United States regarding Tehran's claims about the actual extent of the damage to the US bases or their current operational capability.
