Taijul breaks opening stand in Sylhet, but West Indies still go past the lead

Bangladesh had taken a 30-run first-innings lead on the back of Tawhid Hridoy's record-breaking unbeaten 242. But batting in their second innings, West Indies quickly went past that lead with a counter-attack.
At the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, the two openers Brandon King and Joshua Silva batted aggressively from the start of the fourth day's play. They resumed the day on 7 without loss. Bangladesh had to wait quite a while for the first wicket.
In reply to West Indies' 356 in the first innings, Bangladesh made 386. Bowling in the second innings with a 30-run lead, Bangladesh's bowlers could not contain the Caribbean batters at first.
At the start, nobody could resist the attack of the two batters. With aggressive batting, the visitors quickly went past the lead.
But in the 22nd over, Taijul Islam broke the Caribbean opening stand by removing Joshua Silva. In the 21.2nd over, Silva was caught behind off Taijul. That ended the 78-run opening partnership.
Silva was out for 36, but Brandon King continued his aggressive batting at the other end. He has already reached his half-century.
Tawhid Hridoy's unbeaten 242 had given Bangladesh the first-innings lead. But the aggressive batting of the West Indies openers in the second innings meant that lead did not last.
After Taijul's wicket broke the 78-run stand, Bangladesh are now trying to fight back into the match. But Brandon King's half-century has kept the visitors in control.
