Biman extends suspension of Riyadh and Dammam flights until November 4 amid attacks on Saudi airports
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has extended the suspension of flights on the Dhaka-Dammam and Dhaka-Riyadh routes until November 4, in view of the ongoing attacks on airports in Saudi Arabia. The national flag carrier said the decision was taken in the interest of passenger safety.
In a notice issued on Sunday, Biman said all flights from Dhaka to Dammam and Riyadh would remain suspended until November 4, Bangladesh time.
The notice said the next decision on these flights and a revised schedule would be announced in due course.
It added that, in case of urgent need, passengers would be able to travel to Saudi Arabia using Jeddah and Madinah international airports.
Considering passenger demand, two flights a day have been operated on the Dhaka-Jeddah route since October 16. This arrangement will also continue until November 4.
Flights on the Dhaka-Madinah route, meanwhile, are being operated regularly with Boeing 787 aircraft.
The airline has requested passengers to contact the nearest Biman Bangladesh Airlines sales office for ticket and travel-related information.
