Two children drown in pond at Mollapara in Magura Sadar, they were cousins
Two children have died after falling into a pond at Mollapara in Magura Sadar. The incident happened at a pond in the Mollapara Baliar Math area of Sadar at noon on Monday, 26 October.
The two deceased children are Huzaifa, 9, son of Imon Biswas of the Mollapara area, and Isa Ali, 10, son of Antar Biswas of the same area. The two were cousins.
Huzaifa's mother Sharifa Begum said the two brothers went to play at noon in the Mollapara Baliar Math area of the town. There they fell into the pond water and both died. Local people later rescued them and took them to Magura 250-bed Sadar Hospital, where emergency department doctor Rashid Biswas declared them dead.
Magura Sadar Police Station OC Faruk Ahmed said he has heard of the incident of the two children dying after falling into water. The two bodies have been kept in the temporary morgue of Magura Sadar Hospital, and legal measures in this regard are under process, he said.
