Cowboys Beat Eagles 38-21 to Hand Philadelphia a Fifth Straight Loss, Prescott Throws Three Touchdowns

The Dallas Cowboys beat Philadelphia 38-21 on Monday night in the NFL to hand the Eagles their fifth straight loss. Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns, two of them to CeeDee Lamb.
Javonte Williams ran for a career-high 155 yards and a touchdown. The win took the Cowboys to 3-4 and kept them in contention for the NFC East title. The New York Giants lead the division at 4-2-1.
The Eagles, at 2-5, are spiralling into a disastrous season, with their longest losing skid since 2016.
Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts is expected to miss the rest of the season because of blood clots in his lungs. His replacement, Tanner McKee, completed 23 of 35 passes for 211 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
Dallas trailed 21-20 late in the third quarter when Lamb caught his second touchdown, a 16-yard pass from Prescott in the corner of the end zone. Prescott ran in the two-point conversion for a 28-21 lead.
Brandon Aubrey kicked field goals of 55, 27 and 24 yards, the final kick extending Dallas's lead to 31-21. Williams then capped the scoring with a two-yard touchdown run, in the first 150-yard rushing game by a Dallas player since Ezekiel Elliott in 2018. The Cowboys finished with 204 yards rushing.
Earlier, the Eagles scored their first third-quarter touchdown of the season on a drive that ran almost 10 minutes off the clock, with McKee hitting rookie Makai Lemon for a four-yard touchdown and a 21-20 lead. Philadelphia did not score again, and McKee had a pass intercepted late in the fourth quarter by linebacker DeMarvion Overshown.
Dallas had opened the scoring with a field goal before Saquon Barkley's eight-yard touchdown run made it 7-3 to the Eagles. Barkley, returning after missing more than two games with a hamstring injury, had 37 yards rushing on that drive and finished with 62 yards on seven carries. Before half-time, Prescott threw touchdown passes of nine yards to Lamb and 21 yards to George Pickens to give Dallas a 20-14 lead.
At half-time, Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie was inducted into the team's Hall of Fame. Lurie bought the Eagles on 6 May 1994. Since the turn of the century they have played in four Super Bowls—one of only three teams to do so since 2004—and have won the only two titles in franchise history under his ownership.
