Salon businessman Robendra Rishi stabbed to death in Bhaluka's Jamirdia, allegation against Saddam Hossain

A salon businessman named Robendra Rishi, 43, has been stabbed to death in the Jamirdia area of Bhaluka upazila in Mymensingh. The incident took place on Tuesday evening (October 27) in the Noman Composite Muktijoddha Market area of Jamirdia. A man named Saddam Hossain has been accused of the killing.
Robendra Rishi was the son of Ranjit Rishi of Uttarpara in Dhobaura upazila, Mymensingh. He lived in a rented house belonging to Kashem in the Jamirdia Tarif Munshi Mor area of Bhaluka and ran a salon business. The accused, Saddam Hossain, is the son of Babul Mia of the same area.
The victim's wife, Suchitra, said Saddam often took money from her husband for drugs. He also had his hair cut at the salon without paying. For some days, a dispute had been going on between them over the unpaid money and being refused a haircut.
Suchitra alleged that Saddam had earlier threatened to kill her husband. According to her allegation, Saddam stabbed her husband to death over that dispute.
Eyewitnesses and local sources said Saddam entered the salon and stabbed Robendra. Robendra ran to Saddam's father's shop to save his life and took shelter there. He was stabbed repeatedly there as well.
He then tried to take shelter in a neighbouring house, where he was felled in the courtyard and stabbed again. He died from the stabbings.
Md Zahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bhaluka Model Police Station, said that on receiving the news, police quickly visited the scene and recovered the body. Legal action in the matter is under process.
