A luxury cruise ship collided with two cargo vessels during stormy weather at the port of Bremerhaven in Germany. The collision damaged the ship's lifeboats and forced the cancellation of its planned voyage to the Canary Islands. No passengers were injured.

The incident took place on Sunday as the Mein Schiff 3 was departing the port of Bremerhaven. After the collision, the ship returned to Columbus Quay.

TUI Cruises confirmed the incident to Fox News Digital and said no passengers were injured. 'As a result, we have decided to cancel the planned cruise to the Canary Islands,' the spokesperson said. 'We very much regret having to take this step.'

Technical teams and experts inspected the ship shortly after the collision. A TUI Cruises official told Fox News Digital that the inspection determined the ship would need repairs at a shipyard.

Bremen Police reported the collision on Sunday evening and said the cruise ship had collided with two container ships during stormy weather before returning to Columbus Quay. 'According to current knowledge, no one was injured in the collision,' the translated police statement said, adding that the exact extent of the damage and the cause were not yet conclusively available.

Bremen Police said they are investigating the collision. Police have also reportedly opened an administrative offense investigation into the captain of the Mein Schiff 3, according to German broadcaster NDR.

Footage posted to Reddit appears to show a view from the cruise ship during the collision, with at least one person shouting as the vessel scrapes against a cargo ship, damaging lifeboats along its side.

The TUI Cruises spokesperson said the safety of passengers and crew remains the company's top priority. 'We believe this is the only responsible decision and the right course of action to maintain our high safety standards,' the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson added that the company's focus now is on keeping its guests fully informed, supporting them and assisting them with the next steps.
