Arizona Wildcats head coach Brent Brennan went to a local bar to thank fans after his team's win over Iowa State. On Saturday, at Casino Del Sol Stadium, the Wildcats beat the Cyclones 39-3 in a Big 12 game with major implications for the College Football Playoff, on homecoming weekend.

After fans showed up in large numbers for the game, Brennan stopped on his way home at Dirtbag's, a popular bar near the University of Arizona campus where fans gather after games.

There he ordered 300 tequila shots for Arizona fans and paid the $2,000 tab. He was in the bar for five minutes in total.

Speaking on Monday, Brennan said he has said since he arrived that if you want people to show up for you, you have to show up for them. He said, with alumni in town for homecoming and excitement from the game, it was an easy way to go in, say hello and leave.

Brennan also said he was in there for five minutes, that it was an expensive five minutes but a good five minutes, and that he wanted to invest in the fans and let them know how much the football team appreciates them.

Before kickoff, Brennan had already given back in another way. In the days leading up to the Iowa State game, knowing tickets were still available, he purchased 1,000 tickets for children involved with the Boys & Girls Club, the Ronald McDonald House, local football leagues and other clubs in the area.

Brennan said the team wants to make the game available to as many people as possible, and that this was an easy way to engage groups that are important to him and give some people a chance to see the football team play.
