ACC Files Two Cases Against Former Kushtia MP Abdur Rouf and His Wife Over Assets Beyond Known Income

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed two separate cases against Abdur Rouf, former member of parliament for Kushtia-4 (Kumarkhali-Khoksa), and his wife Jannatun Nahar, on charges of acquiring assets beyond their known sources of income.
Assistant Director Bulbul Ahmed of the ACC's Kushtia integrated district office filed the two cases on Wednesday afternoon (28 October) as the complainant.
According to the case information, the ACC found that Abdur Rouf had acquired and held assets worth Tk 26,510,605 that were inconsistent with his known sources of income.
His wife Jannatun Nahar is accused of acquiring and holding assets worth Tk 13,999,292, inconsistent with her income, by abusing her husband's power. The ACC filed the separate cases after finding the allegations to be substantiated.
Bulbul Ahmed said the cases were filed after the assets declared in the election affidavit and a field-level inquiry confirmed the acquisition of assets beyond known income.
