Flavio Bolsonaro has reached Florida in the United States after his defeat in Brazil's presidential election. He landed at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport with family members at about 9:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday (October 28).

Photographers surrounded him as he left the aircraft. Aides tried to shield him with umbrellas, according to the report.

Flavio did not travel directly from Brazil to the United States. Argentina's immigration authorities said he entered the country by land at 10:50 p.m. local time on Tuesday with his wife Fernanda and his two daughters, Luiza and Carolina.

The aircraft carrying them then stopped in Guayaquil, Ecuador's largest city, to refuel. From there they travelled on to Miami in the United States.

That route and timetable show that before reaching Florida, Flavio passed through at least two countries — first Argentina by land, then a stop in Ecuador by air.

He was seen at the Miami airport a day after Brazil's authorities cancelled his passport. Under a Supreme Court order he was supposed to surrender his passport, but the report says he did not comply with that order.

He had not been seen in public for two days after his election defeat. That absence fuelled speculation about his whereabouts, which has drawn fresh attention now that his presence in Florida has become known.

Flavio is under investigation on allegations of corruption and money laundering. The report says he has denied those allegations.

Whether Florida is his final destination is still not clear. According to the report, that question remains unanswered.
