Vana-Reese Schuster-Togiatau, 19, has died after a drive-by shooting outside a pub in Brisbane's south, in Australia.

The Jimboomba resident was hit in the head and neck on Saturday night when masked gunmen opened fire into a crowd outside Fitzy's Loganholme, in Brisbane's south. The venue was hosting a boxing event that night.

She died in the Princess Alexandra hospital on Thursday morning.

Three men, aged 27, 37 and 38, were also hospitalised in the same incident. One is recovering from surgery, while the other two have been released.

Police are searching for those responsible and are investigating potential gang involvement in the fatal attack.

Detective Inspector Ian Galpin was visibly emotional as he announced the young woman's death to the media. He offered condolences to Schuster-Togiatau's family and friends and said about 80 police officers were involved in the murder investigation.

Galpin said, 'We will not stop until these people are identified and taken into custody.' He added that the 19-year-old, in the prime of her life, had simply gone out for a night with friends and had her life taken in the most cowardly way.

He said there are people who know exactly who was involved in the offence and exactly why it occurred, and he asked those people to be brave enough to come forward with that information.

Galpin said the victim's family was not doing well and had requested their privacy be respected. He also said police were keeping an open mind on possible gang involvement, and that identifying gang members, their associates or other forms of organised crime would expand the scope of the investigation.
