Tribunal-2 Gives Investigators Until January 6 to File Report Against Golap

International Crimes Tribunal-2 has given investigators until January 6 to submit their investigation report against Abdus Sobhan Mia Golap in a case over crimes against humanity committed in Madaripur during the July mass uprising.
The three-member tribunal, led by its chairman Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, passed the order on Thursday following an application by the prosecution.
Prosecutor Gazi M H Tamim moved the application seeking more time before the court.
Golap was produced before the tribunal from prison on Thursday morning for the hearing.
According to the prosecution's allegation, on 18 July 2024, alongside law enforcement personnel, leaders and activists of the Awami League, Jubo League and Chhatra League attacked the anti-discrimination student movement in Madaripur. Three people were killed in that attack.
In connection with that incident, and following a prosecution application, Tribunal-2 showed Golap arrested in this case on April 27.
Abdus Sobhan Mia Golap was elected member of parliament from the Madaripur-3 constituency in the 11th national parliamentary election. He also served for a long time as a special assistant to Sheikh Hasina with the rank of secretary.
After the fall of the government, police arrested Golap on 25 August 2024 from a house in Nakhalpara in the capital. He has remained in prison since then after being shown arrested in various cases.
The investigation agency must now submit its report against Golap to the tribunal by the set date of January 6.
