An electrician named Md Shahidullah, 37, has been killed after being crushed between two racing buses in the Rampura Bridge area of the capital. The accident happened at noon on Thursday, 29 October.

In connection with the incident, police have seized a Raida Paribahan bus and detained its driver.

Shahidullah was first taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. He was later taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital at around 9:15 pm, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

The deceased, Shahidullah, was a resident of the Naraibag area of Demra.

Shahidullah's younger brother, Jewel Rana, said his elder brother was an electrician at Kuwait Mousumi Industries. He had travelled to China on company business last Saturday and returned to the country at around 11 am on Thursday.

Jewel Rana said that at noon, on his way home, his brother got off a bus in the Rampura Bridge area and was crushed between two buses that were racing each other, leaving him seriously injured.
