Trump says war with Iran will end soon
US President Donald Trump has said he believes the war with Iran will end soon. However, he did not say how that end would come about.
He made the remarks in an interview with Kansas City radio station KCMO on Friday, ahead of the 3 November midterm congressional elections.
Trump said, “It will end soon. We need assurances that there will never be a nuclear weapon there.”
He said the United States would not carry out any attack on Iran before the 3 November midterm elections.
In recent weeks Trump has promised several times that the United States and Israel would soon “finish the job” regarding Iran. But he has not made clear whether he intends to proceed diplomatically or militarily.
