Walton Plaza instalment buyers can now withdraw cash equal to one instalment in an emergency
Walton Plaza has launched a new facility allowing its instalment buyers to withdraw cash for urgent financial needs. Holders of the 'Instalment Buyer Protection Card' can withdraw cash up to the equivalent of one instalment in an emergency.
A special feature of the facility is that, whichever Walton Plaza in the country a customer bought a product from, the cash can be withdrawn from any Walton Plaza in Bangladesh. Customers do not have to return to the specific plaza where they bought the product; the facility can be used at the nearest plaza from anywhere in the country.
Walton Plaza authorities say the main purpose of the 'Instalment Buyer Protection Card' is to ensure customers' financial protection and to stand beside them in times of danger. The initiative was taken to support instalment buyers in urgent financial need alongside selling products on instalments. The facility took effect on October 1 this year.
Under the 'Instalment Buyer and Family Protection Policy', if a protection-card-holding buyer dies while instalments are ongoing, Walton Plaza provides the family with financial assistance of between 50,000 and 300,000 taka, based on the value of the purchased product.
If a member of the buyer's family dies, the assistance ranges from 25,000 to 150,000 taka. In the case of the death of a protection-card-holding buyer, the unpaid instalments on the relevant product are also waived. Walton Plaza also arranges employment for an eligible member of the deceased buyer's family.
Protection card holders also receive special benefits for daily needs including medical treatment, education, travel, shopping and entertainment. Walton Plaza has special agreements with more than 5,000 institutions across the country's eight divisions for them.
Those institutions include hospitals and diagnostic centres, educational institutions, hotels and restaurants, resorts and entertainment parks, airlines, and retailers of fashion and daily necessities.
Walton Plaza also runs telemedicine and Happiness and Healthcare activities for buyers and their families' healthcare. Field-level officials also help customers with hospital admission, reaching hospital, arranging blood and obtaining doctors' advice.
Walton Plaza managing director Mohammad Raihan said the company gives importance to ensuring extra benefits for customers alongside putting quality products with advanced technology in their hands. It considers customers as members of the Walton Plaza family, and the instalment buyer and family protection policy was launched from that thinking.
Raihan added that, alongside financial assistance and waiving outstanding instalments, the scope of agreements with partner institutions is being gradually expanded so that buyers can also benefit in various areas of daily life.
