Walton Plaza lets instalment buyers withdraw cash equal to one instalment in an emergency

Staff Reporter

Walton Plaza has launched a new facility allowing customers who buy products on instalments to withdraw cash in an emergency. The company said holders of the 'Instalment Buyer Protection Card' can withdraw cash up to the amount of one instalment when they urgently need it.

A special feature of the facility is that a customer does not have to return to the specific Walton Plaza outlet where the product was bought. The cash can be withdrawn from any Walton Plaza outlet in Bangladesh, so the facility can be used from the nearest outlet anywhere in the country.

Walton Plaza authorities said the main purpose of the 'Instalment Buyer Protection Card' is to ensure customers' financial protection and stand by them in times of danger. The initiative was taken to help customers in urgent financial need alongside selling products on instalments. The facility took effect on 1 October this year.

Under the earlier 'Instalment Buyer and Family Protection Policy', if a protection cardholder dies while instalments are still running, Walton Plaza has been providing financial assistance of Tk 50,000 to Tk 300,000 to the family, based on the price of the purchased product. If a member of the buyer's family dies, the assistance ranges from Tk 25,000 to Tk 150,000.

Under the same policy, the unpaid instalments of the related product are waived when a protection cardholder dies. Walton Plaza also arranges employment for an eligible member of the deceased buyer's family.

Protection cardholders also receive special benefits for daily needs including medical care, education, travel, shopping and entertainment. Walton Plaza has special agreements with more than five thousand institutions across the country's eight divisions for them. These include hospitals and diagnostic centres, educational institutions, hotels and restaurants, resorts and amusement parks, airlines, and fashion and daily necessities outlets.

Walton Plaza also runs telemedicine and Happiness and Healthcare activities for buyers and their families. Field-level officials also help customers with hospital admission, reaching hospital, arranging blood and getting a doctor's advice.

Walton Plaza Managing Director Mohammad Raihan said the company gives importance to ensuring extra benefits for customers alongside putting quality products with advanced technology in their hands. Walton Plaza considers customers members of its own family, and the instalment buyer and family protection policy was launched from that thinking, he said.

Details about withdrawing cash equal to one instalment can be obtained from the nearest Walton Plaza, the website waltonplaza.com.bd or helpline 16267. Free telemedicine service can be reached at 09606990029.
