Cocktail bombs explode at Fulbarigate in Khulna ahead of 11-party alliance long march, welcome arch set on fire

Several cocktail bombs have exploded in the Fulbarigate area of the Khulna-Jessore highway before the motorcade of the 11-party alliance's long march arrived. The alliance's long march, pressing seven-point demands, was heading towards Dhaka-Khulna-Kushtia.
Before that, unknown miscreants also set fire to an arch built to welcome the long march. However, no one was injured in the incidents.
Locals said that on Saturday (October 31) after 3:30 pm, several unidentified helmet-wearing persons exploded cocktails on the highway near the Fulbarigate bus stand and fled.
The explosions spread panic among the men and women standing on both sides of the road to welcome the long march.
Khan Jahan Ali Thana Jamaat-e-Islami assistant secretary Ismail Hossain Parvez said some miscreants exploded several cocktails targeting the motorcade as the long march vehicles were crossing Fulbarigate towards Fultala. No one was injured, he said. He added that shortly before the incident, miscreants also set fire to an arch built to greet the leaders.
Khan Jahan Ali police station officer-in-charge Md Abul Bashar said someone threw three cocktails half an hour before the long march crossed Fulbarigate. It created some panic but there were no casualties.
On the arch fire, the officer-in-charge said an arch of the long march was also set on fire there, but it could not be confirmed whether someone set it or it caught fire accidentally.
