Actor Shariful Raj served legal notice over alleged breach of contract, given 48 hours to confirm schedule

Production company Real Energy Production has served a legal notice on actor Shariful Raj over an alleged breach of contract. Barrister Sajib Mahmud Alam sent the notice on behalf of the company on 28 October.
The notice was sent over allegations that he did not give dates for the shooting of the production house's upcoming Eid-ul-Azha film 'Thikana' and announced another film for the same Eid. The notice says legal action will be taken if the shooting schedule is not confirmed within 48 hours.
The notice says Real Energy Production had an artist service agreement with Shariful Raj on various terms, including acting in the film 'Thikana' and its promotion. As part of the agreement, he also took an advance payment.
Clause 9 of the agreement decided the film would be released on Eid-ul-Azha 2027 or after it. Clause 4.11 says that at the time of the release of 'Thikana', no other project in which the artist plays a lead or significant role will be released.
On 31 August, Shariful Raj announced on Facebook that he had acted in a film named 'Kanabhula Paradox', which is also due for release next Eid-ul-Azha. The notice claims that after that post, the sponsors and stakeholders of 'Thikana' want to walk away.
A first notice was sent on 2 September with four demands — stopping promotion of the rival film, removing the Facebook post, a public apology within 24 hours, and a written assurance of complying with the agreement.
The notice says that after that notice, the artist and his manager contacted them directly and promised to settle the matter amicably, but gave no shooting schedule. The new notice seeks time for shooting from 1 February to 10 March, giving as the reason that two months are needed for post-production to release on Eid-ul-Azha.
Attempts were made several times to reach Shariful Raj for his comment on the matter, but his number was found switched off.
