Former Cox's Bazar Swechchhasebak League President Ekramul Huda Detained by DB Police

Advocate Ekramul Huda, former president of the Cox's Bazar district unit of the Swechchhasebak League — an associate organisation of the Awami League, whose activities are banned — has been detained by the district Detective Branch (DB) of police.

He was detained at around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday night (October 31) from his own home in the Nuniyarchhara area of Cox's Bazar town.

District DB inspector (OC) Monir Hossain confirmed the detention to journalists.

He said the detained Ekramul Huda would be handed over to Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station in a regular case for further legal action.

Advocate Ekramul Huda is known to have served as special public prosecutor of the Cox's Bazar Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-3 during the era of the fallen Awami League government.
