Iran Will Give an 'Unimaginable Response' to Any New Attack, With No Geographic Limits: Armed Forces Chief
Iran's armed forces chief, Major General Ali Abdollahi, has warned that if his country comes under a new attack, it will deliver an 'unimaginable response'. In his words, that response will have no geographic limits, and Iran will be the side that decides when the new war ends.
He made the remarks in a statement on Saturday (31 October), against a backdrop of fears that the United States and Israel may launch fresh attacks on Iran.
Ali Abdollahi said they are acting in line with the guidance of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. In his words, they have many means of striking the enemy, and those are part of their operational plans. The United States and Israel will face an unimaginable response, and Iran will be the party that determines the end of this new war, he said.
US media reports say the new attack Washington is preparing against Iran would be short but extremely intense. Major General Ali Abdollahi was referring mainly to that point, according to the report. He said the Americans will not be able to strike briefly and then stop; if Iran is attacked again, it will keep retaliating as it chooses.
The armed forces chief also said Iran will not wait for a US or Israeli attack; at any indication of an attack, it will begin targeting their infrastructure. He said they will not wait for the enemy to strike first; if they detect any hostile movement, they will decide the timing and the nature of the strike themselves.
He said Iranian observers are keeping constant watch over US and Israeli movements and are setting their targets accordingly.
Ali Abdollahi said that whether an attack comes by water, land or air, it will be resisted to the last breath from that very direction.
