Government emphasising skill-based education over certificates: President

The government is giving importance to skill-based education and job creation, the President has said. According to him, the emphasis is on making young people skilled, creative and work-oriented for the country's development and progress.

The President said this goal cannot be achieved through certificate-based education alone. That is why government policy is moving towards preparing young people through skills that match the demands of the labour market.

Under this position, the focus of current education policy is to shift education from a certificate-centred track to a skill-centred one, and to create employment for that skilled workforce.
