Saudi Arabia's National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast severe adverse weather across various regions of the country. Orange and red alerts have been issued in multiple regions amid the risk of dense fog, strong winds and moderate to heavy thunderstorms.

The warning was issued in the NCM forecast published on Sunday (November 1). According to the weather office, a red alert is the ultimate warning of serious weather-related danger, while an orange alert is an advance message of potentially dangerous weather.

The weather office said two red alerts were issued for dense fog in several areas of the Eastern Province. Orange alerts were issued for fog in other parts of the same region.

Orange alerts were also issued for moderate rain in parts of the Northern Border, Hail, Makkah, Asir, Al-Baha and Jazan regions. Moderate to heavy thunderstorms are feared in particular in parts of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah-Madinah, Hail and the Northern Border.

Alongside rain and fog, strong winds raising dust and sandstorms are possible in parts of the capital Riyadh and Al-Qassim.

The weather department also expressed concern that heavy rainfall could cause flash floods in some regions of Saudi Arabia.
