Bangladesh High Commission urges workers in Maldives to keep copies of their job contracts

Staff Reporter

The Bangladesh High Commission has urged expatriate Bangladeshi workers living in the Maldives to collect a copy of their employment contract with their employer or company and keep it with them.

The High Commission made the call in a notice on Sunday (November 1).

According to the notice, under the rules every worker must have a written contract with the company concerned.

The notice said the contract must clearly state the worker's duties, salary, benefits and other terms and conditions of the job.

The High Commission said it is every worker's responsibility to collect a copy of the contract from their company and preserve it.

It requested Bangladeshi expatriates working in the Maldives to follow this instruction.
