Three more children die with measles symptoms; 1,548 infected in 24 hours

Three more children have died with measles symptoms in the country in the last 24 hours. In the same period, another 1,548 children were infected with measles or measles symptoms. The figures were released on Monday (2 November) in a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services control room.

According to the report, measles was confirmed through testing in 56 children in the last 24 hours. In addition, 1,492 children received treatment with measles symptoms.

With these three deaths, the total number of deaths from measles and measles symptoms since the outbreak began has risen to 1,257.

According to the health directorate, from 15 March to 2 November this year, 1,152 children died with measles symptoms. In the same period, another 105 children died from laboratory-confirmed measles.

Over the same period, the total number of suspected measles patients in the country stood at 231,505. Of them, 23,991 were laboratory-confirmed measles cases.

The directorate also said 261,068 people have been admitted to hospital so far. Of them, 197,548 returned home after completing treatment.
