Real Madrid Beat Racing 3-0 for Fifth Straight Win as Bellingham Reaches 50 Goals

Staff Reporter

Real Madrid maintained their commanding form in Spain's La Liga with a 3-0 home win over Racing Santander. Coming after a 2-1 victory over arch-rivals Barcelona at Camp Nou, the result gave Los Blancos their fifth straight win across all competitions.

Real went ahead in the 11th minute. Kylian Mbappé was fouled inside the box by Santander's Matteo Prati, and when the referee pointed to the spot, the French forward converted the penalty with a precise finish.

Jude Bellingham doubled the lead in the 21st minute. Carrying the ball quickly from near the halfway line, he chipped it over the advancing goalkeeper into the empty net. It was the 50th goal of his career in a Real Madrid shirt.

Real added a third just before the break. When the defence failed to fully clear a corner, the club's record signing Yan Diomande scored with a superb volley.

Real kept control after the interval; in the 59th minute a curling shot from Mbappé from the edge of the box struck the post and came back. At one stage Santander were awarded a penalty, but a VAR review showed the ball had first hit defender Aurélien Tchouaméni's boot before accidentally touching his hand. The handball decision was overturned and the hosts closed out a clean 3-0 win.

The victory cut Real Madrid's gap to league leaders Barcelona to three points. After 11 matches Real sit third with 27 points; Barcelona lead with 30 and city rivals Atlético Madrid are second with 28.

After reaching the milestone, Bellingham said winning this match was vital after the victory over Barcelona at Camp Nou. Scoring 50 goals for a club like Real Madrid, he said, is a personal dream and a very special moment for the team as well.
