BCB Instagram Hit by Hacking Attempt, Board Warns Against Suspicious Links

A security scare has emerged around the Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) official Instagram account. Following a hacking attempt, the account is being used to send suspicious messages to cricketers, board officials and various organisations connected with the game.
The BCB said a hacking attempt was made on its Instagram account on Sunday night (November 1). Since then, repeated unauthorised access attempts have continued against the account, the country's cricket governing body said.
The suspicious messages contain links to illegal cryptocurrency and betting websites, and they also carry a phishing risk.
In view of the situation, the BCB has issued an important security warning. The board said no one should click on suspicious links sent from its Instagram account, and advised avoiding opening any link from the account or engaging with such messages until further notice.
The BCB specifically warned against sharing personal information, passwords or any login-related confidential data through these links, and urged everyone to ignore the suspicious messages.
Meanwhile, the BCB said work is under way to secure and recover the account. A further official update will be given once the process is complete, it added.
