Drone Strike on Indian Ship off Oman Kills One Sailor, 13 Rescued

A drone attack has struck an Indian-flagged merchant vessel off the coast of Oman, killing one Indian sailor. Thirteen other Indian crew members on board have been rescued.
The attack took place on Monday (November 2) near Oman's Limah coast, targeting the cargo vessel named 'MSV Al Jusufi'.
India's Ministry of External Affairs confirmed the attack and the death in a statement on Tuesday (November 3).
Strongly condemning the incident, the ministry said Delhi is deeply concerned by a series of attacks targeting commercial vessels in those waters. It also strongly called for an immediate end to such attacks on civilian infrastructure and merchant ships under way.
India's Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, said in a statement on social media that 13 sailors had managed to get off the ship safely and had been rescued by Oman's coast guard.
Sonowal said: "I inform with great sorrow that one of our sailors, Gandhar Nahim Aziz, a resident of Gujarat, has unfortunately died from his injuries."
According to the report, since the United States and Israel attacked Iran on February 28, several Indian sailors have been killed in various attacks in the Strait of Hormuz.
