Rashed Khan Mocks Jamaat Event for Akhtaruzzaman: 'The Razakar of '71 Welcomed the Razakar of '24 With Flowers'
The prime minister's political assistant Rashed Khan has posted that, seeing Jamaat's event for Major (retd) Akhtaruzzaman, people are commenting that 'the razakar of '71 has welcomed the razakar of '24 with flowers'.
He made the comment in a post on his verified Facebook account on Tuesday night (3 November).
In the post, Rashed Khan wrote that although in July 2024 Major Akhtaruzzaman had called all the protesters children of razakars, he is now a hero to Jamaat.
He wrote that he himself was present at that much-discussed talk show organised by Face The People. Major Akhtaruzzaman had attacked him too as a razakar's child, and had also commented that those protesting were Jamaat-Shibir and the children of razakars.
Rashed wrote that at the time, Sagar of Face The People had asked Major Akhtaruzzaman whether all of them were razakars' children. In reply, Major Akhtaruzzaman had said, 'Hundred percent, they are one hundred percent children of razakars!'
The prime minister's political assistant said that Major Akhtaruzzaman, the 'traitor of that July and abettor of genocide', has now become a Jamaat leader. He also wrote that Major Akhtaruzzaman, who used to call Jamaat a terrorist party, has now learnt to chant the 'Naraye Takbir' slogan nicely.
In the post he asked, 'Once you learn the business of religion, what else does it take to do politics in this society?' Posing a question to Jamaat, he also said: if Sheikh Hasina apologised and expressed interest in joining Jamaat, would she too get the chance to join the party?
Rashed Khan wrote that he also mocked the moment when, standing beside the Jamaat Amir today, Major Akhtaruzzaman said, 'Even Yahya Khan could not stop us, what will you stop?'
He wrote that as soon as Major Akhtaruzzaman moved on to 'Yahya Khan and the subject of '71', the Jamaat Amir was perhaps biting his tongue. Yet the Jamaat Amir had praised him, saying Major Akhtaruzzaman is now not only a Jamaat leader but a leader of all the people of Bangladesh — a remark Rashed also mentioned in his post.
In the final part of the post, Rashed Khan repeated: 'Anyway, seeing Jamaat's event today for Major Akhtaruzzaman, people are commenting that the razakar of '71 has welcomed the razakar of '24 with flowers!'
