Army Helicopters Narrowly Missed by Fireworks Before Seahawks Game, Seattle Lose on the Field Too

Fireworks nearly struck a US Army helicopter during a pregame flyover at an NFL game in Seattle on Monday night. Four helicopters were flying over Lumen Field, home of the Seattle Seahawks, before the game against the Chicago Bears.
All four aircraft were UH-60M Black Hawks from the US Army's 2nd Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment. The timing of the fireworks went wrong: they were set off before the fourth helicopter had cleared the stadium. Video showed the fireworks passing close to the last of the four helicopters.
On the field, too, it was a night to forget for the Seahawks. Seattle lost 34-17 at home to the Chicago Bears.
Bears star quarterback Caleb Williams threw for 237 yards, even though the Seahawks' defence had not allowed a 200-yard passer in the first seven weeks of the season.
Chicago's offence piled up 363 yards in total, 62 more than its previous season high. Seattle's defence, meanwhile, gave up 34 points, the most it has allowed all season.
Seattle also struggled on special teams. The Bears blocked a field-goal attempt, and the Seahawks' offence was held to just 252 yards, its second-lowest total of the season.
Just eight games after winning the Super Bowl, the Seahawks now stand at 4-4. If the season ended today, they would not make the playoffs.
Seattle will look to bounce back on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET against the Arizona Cardinals, who are currently 3-5.
