European Commission to lead talks on next round of support for Ukraine with US, Nato and partners

The European Commission is set to lead discussions on the next round of support for Ukraine. It will hold talks with the US, France, Germany, Britain, Nato and the World Bank, according to Wednesday's report.
The talks will look at what can be done to help Kyiv throughout the winter and how to support the US-led peace process with the upcoming negotiations in Abu Dhabi, the report said.
President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff said US negotiators would meet their European partners in Brussels.
The talks come after another night of heavy attacks on Ukraine, hitting power stations in Kyiv and Zhytomyr and a cargo vessel at sea near Odesa, the report noted.
Among European reactions to the US midterm results, Spain's socialist prime minister Pedro Sánchez — who has been Donald Trump's most vociferous European critic — hailed the results as proof of a progressive fightback and of the “crumbling” of what he called the “ultra wave”. Sánchez faces an uphill battle to secure another term in Spain's general election at the end of the month.
Posting on X, Sánchez wrote that yesterday American society voted against the policies that only impoverish — against hate, against sexism, against climate denialism and against the privileges of the elites. He added: it happened in Brazil, it just happened in the US, and it will happen soon in Spain.
