Election Commission to re-verify list of election-ready unions, corrections due by 8 November

The Election Commission (EC) has taken an initiative to re-verify whether the names of election-ready unions have been correctly included in the list.
The EC has also moved to re-verify information on the settlement of legal complications or boundary-related disputes, and whether the name of any currently election-ready union has been left out of the list.
After verifying the information, any correction is to be sent to the election management and coordination branch by 8 November.
EC Secretariat deputy secretary Mohammad Monir Hossain said these things in a letter sent to all district election officers.
The letter said that, for holding union parishad elections, the list of election-ready union parishads in all upazilas under each district has been prepared according to information sent from the district election officer's office and the Local Government Division, and the list has been attached.
The letter further said it is necessary to re-verify whether the names of election-ready unions in the upazilas concerned are correctly listed in the attached list, along with information on settlement of legal complications or boundary disputes and whether any currently election-ready union's name has been omitted.
The letter requested that, after verifying the attached list, any correction — a union parishad's name, date, case, boundary complication, voter-list rearrangement or any other information — be sent to the election management and coordination-3 branch by 8 November.
If the information in the list is correct, the letter also requested that this be confirmed in writing, as directed.
