Staff Reporter

Bank Asia's net profit rose 34 percent in the first nine months of 2026 compared with the same period a year earlier. From January to September 2026 the bank earned a net profit of Tk 472 crore, up from Tk 351 crore in the same period of 2025.

To present the results to shareholders, Bank Asia PLC held an online 'Earning Disclosure Q3-2026' event on 3 November 2026 at Bank Asia Tower in Karwan Bazar, Dhaka.

The bank's Managing Director Sohail R K Hossain attended the event, along with the additional managing directors, deputy managing directors, the chief financial officer and the chief audit officer.

The bank's non-performing loan ratio fell significantly during the first nine months. Deposits grew 19 percent over the same period, rising from Tk 44,615 crore to Tk 53,308 crore, which played a positive role in increasing the bank's operating profit.

At the end of September 2026, the bank's earnings per share (EPS) stood at Tk 3.24, up 37 percent from Tk 2.37 in the same period a year earlier. Net asset value per share stood at Tk 28.46, 5 percent higher than the previous year.

In the July–September quarter alone, the bank earned a net profit of around Tk 208 crore. Significant growth in customer deposits also led to a notable improvement in the bank's operating cash flow.
